Now featuring... Goats!
Compounding with our excitement during Earth Week, we are also incredibly excited to have added furry goat friends to our family! Aside from being cute companions, the goats will provide rich manure to fertilize our gardens, delicious milk to make into cheeses and soaps (stay tuned!), and more opportunity to clear shrubs like blackberry and poison oak.
Plant Feature: Calendula
This vibrant yellow-orange medicinal and edible flower is one of our favorite plant allies. Aside from being a beautiful garnish, fresh or dried, the colorful petals of calendula are also rich in flavonoids that are known to be anti-inflammatory, anticancer, and antidiabetic. Calendula is used topically to help with a variety of skin ailments and also supports gut health.
Eat, drink, lather, repeat!
We currently have a small garden patch of calendula blooming and a few more garden beds planted that will soon be a sight for sore eyes. We look forward to incorporating calendula’s healing properties into an herbal medicine line that can be shared with you! Stay tuned :)
