Just as a rhizome accumulates nutrients, water, and energy to feed and multiply its aerial plant parts, Rhize is a confluence for the cultivation of community resilience - offering shared access to food and information, increasing our capacity to collaborate and thrive in an unpredictable world.
Regenerative Agriculture
We are dedicated to beyond-organic practices that encourage a thriving ecosystem. Regenerative farming methods sequester carbon, support biodiversity, provide habitat for insect and animal allies, improve soil structure, and increase water retention. Our goal is to demonstrate an agricultural approach that is both ecologically responsible and economically viable, providing a template that can be replicated worldwide.
Research & Demonstration
We know that the best solutions can be found at the edges. We’re researching leading-edge regenerative science practices, and acting as a demonstration site - harnessing the potential of our unique, central location to share and amplify the ecosystem solutions that promote thriving.
Experiential Education
A curriculum that melds conservancy, ecology and technology to create a first of its kind living laboratory. Through exploring our relationship to local food systems, we strengthen our connection to our natural environment, our local community and ourselves. Reconnecting humanity to the inherent abundance in our natural systems to activate planetary regeneration.
Donating Organic Produce
Through powerful partnership with local nonprofits, Rhize will donate organic produce to underserved, economically impacted communities. We’re providing farm fresh produce to local food banks and underserved, economically impacted communities. Through this effort, we’re expanding our agricultural operations, supporting local farmers and businesses, and building a foundation of resilient cooperative organizations along the California Coast.
